Karin Brown has written a new book–Th(i)nkful: Cultivating the Habit of Thankfulness. It just came out on Amazon last week. Find out what Karin means as she links being thinkful with being thankful, an appropriate topic for this time of year.

The Author

Though I have not yet read the book, my wife and I have known the author for many years. She and her husband, David, serve with Biblical Ministries Worldwide. They spent decades in South Africa and in many other roles with the mission. She is experienced in ministry, a mature mentor, and unfailingly kind.

The Book

Karin provides this description on the back of her book: “Many people today find themselves battling with anxiety, depression, and negativity. Yet the Bible holds out the promise of a life characterized by peace and joy. But how can that become a reality amid the ordinary pressures, disappointments, and uncertainties of life?

“In Th(i)nkful, Karin Brown offers what many self-help books cannot: a biblical approach to the struggles of the mind and heart. She shows how the way we think shapes the way we live, and how cultivating gratitude begins by fixing our minds on God’s character, work, and promises.

“Th(i)nkful invites readers to rethink the way they respond to life’s ups and downs—and to discover how a mind increasingly shaped by God’s truth can produce a heart increasingly characterized by thankfulness.”

An Invitation to Read

Join me in reading Karin’s book. If you like it, please help out a new writer and give her book a review on Amazon. Maybe I should have waited until I read her book before posting this article, but when I have, I too will give her a rating on Amazon. Karin has been an encouragement to our family. I’m sure she will be an encouragement to you also.
